Vacature Operations Coordinator

A leading international client in the Petroleum Sector is seeking an OPERATIONS COORDINATOR for their Suriname location.

OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

The Operations Coordinator role supports the Terminal Manager in the efficient operation of the Terminal operations. Ensures the fleet is operated within the safety and regulatory guidelines and at an optimum level.

Key responsibilities

  • Supports Terminal Manager in execution of: cost management of expense budget; major maintenance and capital expenditure; employee coaching.
  • Provides assistance to Terminal Manager in organizing safety meetings and fire drills.
  • Supports the Terminal Manager in the management of the terminal operations and supervision of projects.
  • Executes maintenance plan for fleet and maintains related documentation.
  • Assist with inventory management; prepares reports; ensures all inventory reconciliations are completed and submitted.
  • Works with Shipping/Supply Department to ensure that there is an ample supply of all products.
  • Assists in determining the Terminal training needs of staff.
  • Attends to customer queries timely.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A certificate/diploma in mechanical engineering or relevant qualification
  • Secondary school diploma including Mathematics and English
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar environment
  • 1 to 2 years in a supervisory position
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office suite)
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Experience in the petroleum industry would be an asset
