For our Branch in Suriname, we are hiring a; Safety Officer
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Safety regulations.
- Detail-oriented and ready to act in emergencies and Prepare field investigation on safety incidents.
- Establish a safe workplace according to legal standards and foster a culture of attention to health and safety.
- Create Safety Environmental awareness, together with sufficient interest and motivation to accept training and progress along a career path
- Inspect premises, equipment, and work of personnel
- Identify unsafe situations and acts
- Verify compliance with policies.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong multitasking abilities
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Results-oriented
- Basic English proficiency (a second language is a plus)
Requirements
- Be physically fit and have good physical dexterity
- Preferably have a background and aptitude, with skills in operating and maintaining machinery
- Demonstrate their commitment to safety!
- Driving license is preferred
- Knowledge of Safety legislation and procedures
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Diligence with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
