Safety Administrator

Major Drilling is a global provider of specialized drilling services with offices in Canada, the United States, Central and South America, Asia, Africa and Australia. Major Drilling provides all types of drilling services, including underground and surface drilling with coring, directional, reverse circulation, energy, geotechnical and environmental drilling.

Position Summary

The Safety Administrator supports the Safety Department through accurate digital recordkeeping, training coordination, PPE management, and administrative control of safety systems and documentation. This role helps maintain structured safety processes, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the digital safety management system and ensure all records, certifications, and documentation remain accurate and up to date.
  • Support employees and contractors in using the safety system.
  • Coordinate mandatory safety training, including scheduling, certification tracking, refresher programs, and reporting.
  • Manage PPE administration (procurement coordination, distribution, stock control, and compliance tracking).
  • Support safety inspections and ensure procedures and documentation remain updated.
  • Assist during incidents and investigations by ensuring proper documentation, follow-up, and reporting.
  • Support purchasing processes related to safety equipment and materials.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Safety Department.

Qualifications

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented with interest in safety and compliance.
  • Safety or mining experience is an advantage but not required.
  • Opportunity to grow into a broader safety coordination role over time.
  • Willingness to support internal safety training is a plus.
  • Internship candidates (2–4 months) with strong administrative skills may also be considered.
